LITTLE ART BIG ART

What is Processed Art?

Understanding and enjoying the creative journey and learning rather than focused on the final product. With qualified teacher and highly skilled artist Rachael Morris leading her team, our art classes are designed to develop an understanding and love for the "process" of art, not making a perfect artwork. That way the artist can practise the process in their own time to fine tune it or apply it to other aspects of learning!

What do we teach?

At Little Art Big Art, we explore a wide variety of visual and fine arts as well as handicrafts and textile artworks for all ages starting from as young as 1! Artists can enjoy learning about drawing, painting, printing, sculpture, ceramics, jewellery making, textiles, tie dye, mosaics, alcohol ink, fluid art and much, much more.

We do offer 'Paint & Sip' Adult workshops and various external workshops for event organisers, councils and schools. Many of our workshops listed are suitable for groups, special occasions, team building activities, corporate events, and schools but we can also cater to your request or event outline. Please get in touch via our events page.

AGEUNDE
Classes for children who are not in school yet.

Tiny Artists is a class for children aged 1 to 5 years that teaches families about the creative process, how to use a range of art materials and about colour, shape and texture. Various art stations are set up for you and your Tiny Artists to enjoy. Kids love paint and this makes up a key ingredient. In addition, artists will explore paint and print tools, various drawing mediums, sculpting construction, crafting materials, plus more! We encourage children to move between the activities at their own pace in order to enjoy the creative journey.

A range of art concepts secretly target various skill developments such as forming circles for the young ones or creating circular pattern work with the older kinder kids. Some activities may be a collaborative project between parent/guardian and child whilst others encourage independence and confidence. Just like school, some activities are repeated or presented in a different way to enhance learning and to allow for new discoveries.

The Tiny Artist program is a great way to make new friends for both the children and parents/guardians. Social skills are enhanced as artists learn to share and negotiate, take turns, talk to each other and enjoy the company of others in a gentle and calming environment. It's a great program for quieter children to develop confidence in themselves as a learner and individual but also to develop the confidence and trust of others around them.

Sessions also encourage a range of developmental skills:
Fine and gross motor development
Hand eye coordination
Spatial awareness skills
Social interaction and sharing skills
Imagination
Experimenting and problem solving

Senior Drawing & Painting Club focuses on developing drawing and painting skills and is open for ages 9-15 years.

Our Artists will learn how to plan and record ideas and art learnings in a visual art journal and learn to manipulate and use various art materials. Artists will engage in various project work that make connections with their ideas, as well as art projects teachers may present to them. Projects may focus on a combination of art concepts or solely on one art form. We draw inspiration from local and famous artists as we learn about different art forms and how art is created. HOLIDAY CLASSES at Little Art Big Art

TEEN12-18 & ADULTS
Classes for secondary school aged children

Our Teens Program is split into two programs:
Visual Arts Mixed Media Term Program for 12-18 years (high school, unless we advance a student)
Adult & Teens Draw & Paint short courses for 16+ years.

Visual Arts Mixed Media Program:
Our sessions are broken into two parts. Technique development and project development.
Technique development will see artists engage in a series of drawing & painting techniques based on different subject matter. This practice will allow individuals to explore and develop their own drawing and paint style and strengthen technical skills and applications whilst having lots of experimental fun along the way.

The learning gained through drawing and paint prompts along with the exposure to varied art mediums will provide a platform for artists to develop a term based project (or two) that is driven from their interests and subject choice. During each art session, we want you to carve your own artistic expression and develop a personal skill set and style to further yourself as the young budding artist you always imagined yourself to be.

Throughout each session individual styles and technique will be mentored to ensure each artist can achieve a greater concept and experience of making art. We want you to be playful, get your hands dirty with expressive and experimental art practices whilst having fun and loosening up all the creative juices from your mind to your fingertips.

Make sure you wear appropriate clothing for a painting/drawing class! We will be working with charcoal, paint, inks and more so we may get messy. You are welcome to also bring along any of your own materials and projects to assist with school and personal projects.
